SMA Mayor Named VP of World Organization of Heritage Cities

At the 15th World Congress in Krakow, Poland, San Miguel Mayor Luis Alberto Villarreal was elected Vice President of the Board of Directors of the World Organization of World Heritage Cities.

The theme of the World Congress was “Heritage and Tourism: Local communities and visitors; a shared responsibility.” The main topics to be worked on in the next two years are: Heritage Communication, “Overtourism”, Sustainable Tourism and the Recommendation on the Historic Urban Landscape (PUH) and Local Communities and Heritage.

During his stay, Mayor Villarreal held several meetings, including a notable one with the Ambassador of Mexico in Poland, Alejandro Negrín.
