Celebrate the Day of the Dead in SMA

With the firm commitment to promote cultural and artistic activities in all public spaces, the Municipal Government through the Directorate of Culture and Traditions prepared an extensive program of activities for the Day of the Dead.

The celebrations, which begin on Canal Street, Callejón de los Muertos and San Antonio Abad to conclude in the Plaza de los Insurgentes, where all residents will be invited to decorate their facades with flowers and ornaments according to the Day of the Dead celebration.

Neighbors interested in placing flowers or offerings can approach the Directorate of Culture and Traditions to receive support so the houses look colorful and full of life.

The program of activities includes the placement of offerings for the Angelitos, at 2pm of October 31 in the Barrio de San Juan de Dios and the inauguration of an offering in the House Museum of Allende, about 8pm.

On the first of November there will be an inauguration of two monumental rugs, one at 4 in the afternoon in the old Plaza de Armas and the other at 5 pm in Plaza de los Insurgentes.

Subsequently, at 6:30 pm the Day of the Dead parade (catrinas) of the Technological University of San Miguel (UTSMA) and the Directorate of Culture and Traditions will be held. At 7:15pm, the parade of the Dead of El Pípila High School begins and at about 7:30pm, the monumental offering will be inaugurated in the neighborhood of San Juan de Dios.

On November 2, in San Juan de Dios, there will also be the presentation of the groups of the Directorate of Culture, and at the same time the pantheon of this neighborhood will open.

At 5:00 pm the theater-musical performance “Corridos de la Revolución” will be held; at 06:00 in the afternoon a play; at 7:00 pm the Mariachi and Ballet Representativo and will culminate at 8:00pm with the stellar concert of the Mambo Orchestra “Calaveras y Diablitos”, with the special participation of Luis Ángel, the vocalist of the songs of the film ‘Coco’.
