Burning Truck Found – Linked to Attack on “El Pariente”
Around 8:30am, a burning vehicle was reported near the road to San Miguel Viejo. The truck had bullet impacts which are linked to the attack that happened minutes earlier where a man who went by the name “El Pariente” was killed, on the path that leads to Taboada.
It appears to be the van the attackers were traveling in. After the shooting, they fled down the San Miguel de Allende highway to Dolores and entered San Miguel. They took the Manuel Zavala highway to the Bicentennial Bridge where they turned onto the Calzada de la Estación, crossed the railroad tracks, proceeded to the road to San Miguel Viejo and looked for a place to leave the truck.
The fire appears intentional; municipal police arrived at the scene, as did investigators from the Guanajuato Attorney General’s office just minutes later, to collect evidence and corroborate information to if this is indeed the van the aggressors used to flee.
