Op-ed: Return of the Nightmare of the Dog Killer of San Miguel de Allende

Since 2014, the actions of a foreign lady killing dogs in the Temazcallis area near the community of Cieneguita have been denounced. Even her detention and guilt were published in the medium you represent. Apparently, this lady was granted the legal opportunity to redeem herself. Apparently that opportunity has cost the lives of four more animals.
My name is Jaime Fenton Sautto; I am a Mexican/American citizen residing in San Miguel since 1970. What I am going to tell you is indicative of the values that have been lost from that date to today. San Miguel has always distinguished itself by the support of its foreign citizens in both heritage and social causes. But there are foreigners who have come to shatter the social peace enjoyed by both nationals and foreigners themselves.
ACTS
I was invited, by my friend Diego Rodríguez, to stay for a while at his ranch. At the ranch we had 5 dogs (Picudo, Maya, Mayita, Estrellita and Blanquita). They were happy dogs; the only thing they were looking for from human beings was a little love. Although they were not my dogs; I gladly took care of them.
Diego had an important family reunion the morning the problem arose and he instructed me to file the corresponding complaint with the public ministry as well as take care of his property while he was absent:
The day before his departure (Friday) we noticed that Estrellita was bleeding from her anus so we took her to the vet, they gave us medicine and she returned home with us. That night we realized that Estrellita did not improve and that Mayita also had stomach contractions, would not get up and did not want to eat or drink.
The morning Diego left (Saturday), Mayita was dead. In addition Blanquita began to show symptoms and Estrellita was unimproved. So we took her back to the vet. This time, Estrellita remained hospitalized and Blanquita returned with us to the ranch. Diego had to leave, so I was left alone to take care of the situation. Saturday night Blanquita did not improve and Maya began to show symptoms.
The next morning (Sunday) Blanquita was found dead. I took Maya to Pet-Vet since the veterinarian where Estrellita was hospitalized was closed. That afternoon I spoke to the first veterinarian where they informed me that Estrellita had died. By then it was evident that it was a case of poisoning, both because of the symptoms of the dogs and the testimonies of the neighbors.
I will not mention the name of the responsible person since I have already filed a complaint with the Public Prosecutor and I do not want to hinder their investigation process. However, if you start your own investigation, I am sure you will have no problem finding your name and your file since it is a repeat offender since 2014.
Maya also did not survive (Monday) …
The reason why I am writing this complaint in such detail is that they are aware of the situation, conduct their own investigation and do not take their finger off the line. I just spent a weekend in hell where 4 of my puppies were killed by a foreign woman and the legal system we have failed to protect them. For me they were like my daughters. Worst of all, another neighbor’s dogs were also attacked by this person. We don’t know how many more are going to die if we turn our backs on this. We have to protect ourselves and protect those who have no voice.
