Lights for Liberty
On July 12th at 8:30pm, various groups will hold an event at the main kiosk at Parque Juarez in support of the treatment of migrant families at t he US/Mexican border.
“All eyes are on the treatment of asylum seekers at the Mexican Border. It’s time to take action to end the camps. Please join members of our community as we light a candle and come together in support of migrant families detained at the border between the US and Mexico. These gatherings are happening not only in the United States, but around the world. For more information please check out the sponsoring organization here: Lights for Liberty”
“We shine a light on the inhumane treatment of migrants and refugees by the current administration. To be silent is to be complicit. To sit this out is to be complacent. Now is a time to stand for what is best in all of us, to stop the worst of us. We must stand for one another. At New Sanctuary Coalition, we hold in our hearts a vision of a world worth fighting for,” said Ravi Ragbir, Executive Director of New Sanctuary Coalition. We will gather at the main kiosk/gazebo in Parque Juarez on July 12th at 8:30 p.m. and hold a moment of silence at 9:00 p.m. Please wear white and bring a candle and something to light it with.”
