Organized Crime in Guanajuato Under Control
Alfonso Durazo, Guanajuato State Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, said that despite the recent violent actions of organized crime, the situations in Veracruz and Guanajuato are under control.
Durazo said that thanks to the operations organized in these states, the criminal groups have been weakened.
He went on to say that federal authorities have limited the financial and tactical abilities of the Santa Rosa de Lima and Jalisco Nueva Generación cartels.
Durazo said that authorities will continue to pursue José Antonio Yépez ‘el Marro’, identified as the leader of the Santa Rosa de Lima cartel, and Nemesio Oseguera ‘el Mencho’, leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel.
