Morena Party Wants Provisional Governors in Guanajuato and Tamaulipas
After the 2018 presidential election, Guanajuato was the only “blue dot” where the PAN party won the election. Now the party that controls the presidency, Morena, aims to control Guanajuato.
Due to the insecurity and violence recorded recently in Guanajuato and Tamaulipas, the political party of national movement regeneration (Morena) requested on Tuesday, in the Senate of the Republic, the leadership to be removed in Guanajuato and Tamaulipas. The Morenistas will ask for the removal of the current governors Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo (of Guanajuato) and Francisco García Cabeza de Vaca (of Tamaulipas) from the National Action Party (PAN) and requested the appointment of Provisional Governors: with basis in the provisions of section V of Article 76 constitutional, Morenas will ask for a declaration to be made and carried out. The PAN Party Senators and Legislators have made noise as well; they have published that what the Morenas proposed is unconstitutional, that it would only be legal if the governor resigns or dies.
Senator Martha Lucia Micher Camarena stated, via social media, that “the PAN Party requested leadership in Veracruz to be removed and that those same arguments are applicable to various states, including Guanajuato and Tamaulipas. The decision resides with the Mexican Senate.”
As of now, nothing has been approved.
